Students in second grade prepare to receive their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Older students who have not received the sacraments may also prepare to receive the sacraments.
Monthly confessions are offered to students in grades 3-8.
St. Louis de Montfort School begins every day together in prayer. Classes pray together throughout the day, especially before meals and at the end of the day. Students learn prayers of the Catholic faith but also practice spontaneous prayer as they grow in their relationship with God.
All students in TK-8 learn about the Catholic faith in daily classes. Using the Bible, the Christ Our Life series from Loyola Press, the Catechism, and resources for the liturgical year, St. Louis shares the rich beliefs and traditions of the Catholic Church with our students and families.
Catholics hold a special place in our hearts for our Spiritual Mother, Mary. We honor her magnificat - her yes - in response to God's will. During the year, we pray the rosary in traditional form or as a living rosary, care for and pray in the Mary garden, and study her example of how to follow Christ.
Students learn about the works of mercy and how to put our faith in action. Students write thank you cards and deliver them to neighboring homes and businesses. They organize collections for the food bank, homeless shelter, and pregnancy center. Students and families complete service hours and take our faith out into the community.
